From Garden to Vase
Join us in the beautiful gardens at Puriri Lane for an informal workshop on creating your own floral masterpiece made with seasonal flowers from our cutting gardens. We will step you through the techniques which can be used to present flowers for the home in a limited edition bespoke footed bowl which is yours to take home.
This workshop will appeal to people who have their own garden flowers and want to make the most of them as well as flower fanatics who are looking to work with some not often found vintage style flowers – there will be plants available for sale if something catches your eye. Each month’s workshop flowers will be different reflecting the seasonal changes of what is available in our cutting garden.
We will start with a tour of the Puriri Lane gardens and cutting garden discussing the best flowers to cut and how to condition them for the best vase life. If you like to use flowers from your own garden and want to know the secrets to success this is the ideal opportunity to ask questions as well as opening your eyes to the numerous possibilities for cutting from your existing garden.
Fiona will then show you how to put together your own creation using fresh Puriri Lane flowers conditioned earlier and then it's over to you to create your own with Fiona on hand for support and advice.
Finish with a visit to The Potting Shed where you can find a range of botanically inspired gifts and garden wares. At the conclusion of the workshop, you are welcome to wander at your leisure around the gardens.
No previous floristry experience is required. All tools and flowers are provided.
Price includes refreshments, your flowers and one of Fiona Henderson's Limited Edition footed bowls to take home. The small group size (maximum 6) ensures you have plenty of time to practise, ask questions and enjoy the workshop.
