Eryngium planum White Glitter is an elegant plant which will add stature to your perennial garden with its profusion of silvery egg shaped flowers which light up the garden over summer.

These striking flowers are produced on silvery green stems that stand tall above the basal rosette of deeply toothed leaves. This striking plant will add both texture and unique colour to the garden.  The flowers are both long lasting and easy care.  If you have a cutting garden then this is a definite must as they are a favourite of florists as they last well in a vase as well as being a great candidate for drying.

This plant is a long lived perennial  and thrives in full sun in a well drained soil. These plants will however tolerate poor soil and you should avoid planting in soil that is too rich or your plant will tend to sprawl and will require staking. A great choice for coastal plantings as well as cottage gardens.

White Glitter is an excellent choice for an area that is sunbaked and without doubt must be included in naturalistic planting where both the flowers and the foliage will compliment the brilliant shades of summer flowers.  Also a great choice for a small garden and looks great planted as a single specimen or fabulous planted in groups.

Plants can be cut back in late summer once they have finished flowering.  If your plants are happy you may find that they self sow.  We plant our plants in a mixture of 75% gravel 25% soil in a north facing position and they certainly seem to thrive.  A great choice for the Butterfly garden.

These plants do not transplant well at all, so be sure to leave them undisturbed once established.  When planting your plants, simply cut the bag on all sides and place into the prepared hole without disturbing the roots and then firm down.
