perfect for pollinators

Floral thrill seekers are always looking for varieties that are a little different and Raspberry Flake satisfies that criteria. Being a Spencer sweet pea it has the long stems with generous numbers of flowers per stem. Raspberry Flake has a gentle ripple to its petals rather than a frill. The flowers are white colour on both sides with random flushes of  red that become more concentrated towards the centre of the flower. Raspberry Flake also has a lovely fragrance and is a reliable performer and is also a prolific flowerer.

How to Grow

In mild areas seeds can be sown in pots in the autumn, overwintered in a sheltered spot and planted out in spring. Everywhere else, sow seeds 10-12 weeks before the last frost and plant out right around the last frost. Provide a strong trellis or support to support the vines.

Harvesting | Vase Life
To maximise vase life, harvest your Sweet peas when there are at least two unopened flowers at the tip. Flowers can be picked when flowers are more open however this will mean that your vase life will be shorter. Sweet peas are considered a short-lived cut flower, lasting at best 4-5 days in a vase. Adding a source food, either sugar or flower food to the water will help to extend the vase life by a few more days.

Please note that sweet pea seeds are poisonous if ingested. Use caution around children and pets.
