Tulbaghia simmleri | Alba
Tulbaghia simmleri Alba has white star shaped flowers that provide a stunning display floating on thin 30cm stems above a very hardy, clump of fine, grass-like foliage.
Long blooming, Tulbaghia Alba flowers from Spring and right into Summer. Plants perform to their best in full sun and will cope with partial shade, and they cope particularly well in hot and dry garden places and have low water needs once established.
A low maintenance plant that is hardy and therefore tolerant of frost, the plants die back in winter to re-emerge in spring and will handle temperatures down to about minus 6 degrees Celsius. Since it is deciduous, it is best interplanted with evergreen perennials or grasses.
This variety is also a great choice for the vase, and is also fragrant and is also often used as a bug repellent under roses.
We have other Tulbaghia varieties which you can see here.
