Achillea ptarmica | The PearlRegular price $12.00 Save $-12.00
Delicate pure, almost double, white fluffy small flowers not unlike a gypsophilia. A perennial, this very pretty plant looks wonderful in a mid border position. An easy to maintain perennial which will provide contrast and long lasting flowers. A great choice for a cottage garden, borders, wild and meadow style gardens and great for areas requiring low maintenance. Although The Pearl cultivar is rhizomatous it can sprawl, so to keep it under control, divide the plants every few years.
The plants have a neat mounding habit with glossy lance shaped leaves.Cut back the flowering stems as the flowers fade or pick them in their prime as a cut flower as they make an excellent cut flower with an exceptional vase life. Also great as a dried flower.
Likes a moist but well-drained position in either full sun or partial shade. Tolerant of poor soils as long as drainage is good. Not a fan of clay soil so make sure you ammend your soil if you want to grow this little beauty well. Plants will tolerate hot, humid summers and drought, but the plants do appreciate protection from strong winds.
Plants can easily be divided which should be done in early spring.
