Achillea ageratum | WB Childs
Also known as Mace and Sweet Nancy, Achillea ageratum WB Childs can be a bit thuggish in its growth habit. We love it because it makes such an excellent cut flower and makes a great filler for any vase of flowers as it flowers for nearly three months consistently with harvesting. The flower stems are held high above the bright green serrated, aromatic leaves. Be aware though it can take over so we make sure we have it in an area where we have plenty of space for it to do its thing. Keep cutting it back to encourage both new leaf growth and more flowers. Loved by bees and butterflies. The flowers are large and are approximately 1.5cm in diameter when fully open.
The flowering time for Achillea ageratum WB Childs is summer through to late autumn, although in milder temperatures it can flower throughout the year. Prefers full sun although it will cope with partial shade. Likes well-drained soil.
