Ammi visnaga | Bishops Flower
A delightfully attractive member of the Ammi family with its decorative fern-like, foliage., Robust leaves cover the plant, terminating in multi-branched flower heads. These flower heads are beautiful umbellifers, which are made up of hundreds of small individual florets, forming a dense swirling pattern.
A garden staple for flower farmers and loved by florists for cutting these last well in a vase and look striking on their own with the different shades of green. Harvest flowers when 2/3rds to 3/4's open. If you plant these in a windy area you may need to stake them, so we planting them amongst other plants is a great way to avoid staking. A fantastic filler flower for the garden. Happy in a full sun position although it will cope with a little shade, protect from frost. Plants flower in early summer.
Plants will self sow so you will always have this in your garden and seedlings are easily removed and tucked into other areas of the garden.
