Celosia spictata | Flamingo Feathers
This has to be one of the prettiest Celosias. Flamingo Feathers has delicate, airy pink plumes that fade to a delicate blush colour as they age. A heat loving plant that is a definite one to add to your cutting garden or gardens - the flowers look great in bouquets. Summer flowering and being annual the more you cut them the more they will flower.
The flower heads get bigger as they age, so harvest them when they are the size that you want, but before they go to seed. Remove the foliage before putting into water. Celosias are a long lasting cut flower that have the ability to last at least two weeks. Celosia spictata also makes a great dried flower. Hang freshly cut stems upside down in a warm dark place to avoid the colour fading for 2-3 weeks or until they are firm to the touch. Plant out after all chance of frost has passed
