A pretty pale pink daisy like flower actually related to the Dandelion.
Perfect for the wildflower garden this little flower will reward you with pale pink Dandelion like flowers that are about 4cm in diameter from late spring on and off sometimes until autumn.
They actually prefer poor soil but do like good drainage in a sunny position, although some partial shade is also fine, but drainage is key so we always tend to throw in some gravel when planting.
Super easy to grow, the little fluffy seed heads are also great for drying. Its layered, pretty pink-petaled flowers sit atop stems that typically reach upwards of about 65-70cm over a low rosette of slender, green leaves.
These plants thrive in cooler weather and whilst the flowering season isn’t very long is a lovely choice for its “something different” factor. It also attracts a variety of beneficial insects to the garden. We love it for cutting and it lasts well in the vase. The fluffy seed heads also dry well and you can see a photo I have taken of one of them. This pretty little flower always gets comments. The photos are taken in out cutting gardens so you can see how many flowers they produce - we plant them at about 20-25cm spacings.
