Digitalis purpurea subsp. heywoodii | Silver FoxRegular price $12.00 Save $-12.00
An unusual foxglove with striking silver foliage – sometimes called the Felted Foxglove. This pretty biennial forms a rosette of leaves with racemes of bell-shaped flowers held well above the foliage.
Both unusual and uncommon this is a dwarf variety that has grey foliage coated with soft hair similar to Stachys (Lambs Ears) so it is downy to the touch and gives a beautiful silver sheen. The flowers start from creamy coloured buds that open to a pure white and are delicately freckled with pink on the inside.
A perfect choice to add a bit of height to the middle or back of the border.
Great also as a cut flower. Happy in full sun or partial shade but some respite from the hot afternoon sun is appreciated. Likes good drainage. Hard to find and most sought after this is an absolute gem of a foxglove and it is sure to delight in the garden. Will self sow if happy.
