perfect for pollinators

Also known as Strawberry Merton, Summer King has pretty spires of flowers in the most beautiful strawberry rose with attractive darker markings inside are a feature of this foxglove from spring through into summer.  Loved by bees the flowers make a great "bee hotel"! This selection is a compact variety which forms a low rosette of glossy green leaves in its first year and then flowering in its second spring.

This particular variety normally lives between 2 and 4 years, meaning it is more of a perennial than many of the common foxglove selections. As with any foxgloves, any seedlings that pop up can be easily moved in their first season whilst they are still small.

Happy in sun or partial shade.  Likes a moist soil but well-drained position - we find mulching works well, particularly in the summer months.  A great cut flower albeit it a shorter stem that some of our taller Foxgloves. An excellent choice for a pot or in the garden- being a bit shorter in stature it is fine at the front of the border.

CAUTION: Toxic if eaten

Height 50cm x 45cm Wide

Biennial | First year is leaf growth with flowering in the second year.

Plant size: PB2 - Equivalent 1.2 litres
