Erica | Sessiliflora | Green Ice
Ericas which are also known as Heaths and they are a fantastic plant that will add a burst of colour during the dreary months of winter.
Erica sessiliflora has an erect growth habit with its branches covered in needle like leaves. Sessiliflora is a strong-growing shrub, that has creamy green, tubular flowers
Very popular as a cut flower with florists as it lasts well in a vase for up to two weeks as long as you change the water daily. Being cream and green it is also a popular choice for wedding bouquets and also makes a great filler in floral work. We also have Erica Think Pink which is also very pretty.
Sessiliflora grows happily in full sun or light shade in light soil that is well drained, but needs an acidic, lime free soil. Plants are best pruned after flowering to stimulate new growth and help to keep your plant bushy. Erica's also attract small nectar feeding birds like Waxeyes.
Will tolerate light frost only, so some protection is needed.
