Jasione perennis | Light Blue
This attractive plant has many names such as Sheeps Bit, Blue Bonnets and Blue Buttons, and many think it is related to the scabious but it is not but whatever its name and origin it is a great little plant for the dry garden. It is very attractive to pollinators and also makes an excellent cut flower. Flowers are approximately 2.5cm in width and stand proud above the hairy fine leaves forming low rounded tussocks.
Success with this plant will come from providing it with great drainage and we find they do particularly well planted in our gravel garden.
