perfect for pollinators

This stunning shrub has the most beautiful scent and  in addition to its large clusters of large tubular white flowers, it also has very attractive broad, oval, light green leaves with red veins, which turn shades of gold and maroon in autumn.  This beautiful shrub should be planted somewhere where you can smell its lovely fragrance.

Luculia tsetensis  will only tolerate the lightest frosts, so unfortunately these cannot be planted in frost prone areas.

It is really a small tree but it will rarely get to more than 3 metres in height and pruning it after flowering will keep it neat as well as promoting stronger growth.

Plant this lovely shrub in a well drained position, and acidic soil is certainly preferred.  Being a plant that hails from a forest environment it likes lots of organic materials around its roots, so a good leaf mulch is best. Plants can be fed annually with blood and bone.  Plants resent root disturbance and be sure  not to over water this shrub as you can cause root rot.
