Lychnis flos cuculi | White Robin
Also known as ragged robin, Lychnis flos-cuculi is happy growing in damp places such as the edges of ponds and damp areas of your garden and is a perfect choice for a cottage garden It is also happy in full sun to partial shade and has an upright or spreading habit.
Ragged robin has blue-green, lance-shaped leaves at the base of the plant, becoming more rounded further up the stem. In late spring right through to autumn, delicate flat flower heads carry star-shaped flowers with deeply cut - "ragged" petals. This is an understated but hardy perennial which will grow in any soil type including clay. Vigorous. Great for cutting and the more you deadhead it, the more it will flower. Loved by bees and butterflies.
