Malva sylvestris ssp.mauritiana | Bibor FelhoRegular price $12.00 Save $-12.00
Also known as the Purple Mallow and French Hollyhock, Malva sylvestris mauritiana Bibor Felho has beautiful velvety plum-purple coloured flowers that have contrasting deep purple veins that emerge from distinctive purple flower buds. Bibor Felho is actually Hungarian for purple cloud.
This very attractive plant whilst shrubby has a rigidly upright form with strong erect stems more so that many other Malva varieties and flowers flat out when put in a sunny position. The flowers actually smother the green foliage and stand proud of the foliage through summer and into mid autumn. This attractive plant is a magnet to bees and butterflies as well as making an excellent cut flower.
A great plant to add to the border that looks great with plants with spires and spikes such as our Verbena bonariensis. It is easy to grow and is considered a short lived perennial.
