Also known as Black Parsley or Parsnip Palm. A grand landscaping plant and magnificent umbellifer that is actually monocarpic meaning that it dies after flowering. It is a member of the parsley family with huge dense umbels of pink and white delicate flowers on stout stalks. The finely divided leaves unfurl in a bronzey colour changing to green. Makes great cut flower and is a wonderful source of nectar for butterflies. The name Black Parsley refers to its black seed heads. A great woodland subject or for any well-drained lightly shaded position. Plants will set seed after flowering so you will always have this plant.
