perfect for pollinators

Also known as Love-In-A-Mist, Nigella African Bride is such a stunning variety with deep dark purple stamens that highlight the pure white flowers.  After the beautiful flowers fade and the petals drop you are left with these oh so cute fairy lantern seed pods which can also be dried for winter floral decorations.

This well known plant is identified by its unique airy foliage.  The name comes from the way in which the ferny foliage almost forms a mist around the flowers.

Nigella is a fabulous filler amongst plants particularly those with broader leaves and makes a great filler in a vase with cut flowers.  A perfect choice for the summer border.

Excellent for growing in your cut flower garden and many flower farmers grow this as a crop as it is such a useful flower and easy to grow.  Being an annual, it is a cut and come again flower so keep cutting the flowers to get armloads of flowers for a vase throughout the summer.

A perfect plant choice for the cottage garden or somewhere where the soil is on the dry side and not too rich. Plants will self sow so you will never be without this lovely flower.  Simply take a dried seed pod and scatter the seeds where you want them to grow. Also known as Nigella papillosa.  Plant in a warm sunny spot.  When planting your plant, do not disturb the roots as they do not like it, so simply dig your hole and cut your plant out of the bag and pop it in and firm it down.
