perfect for pollinators

Oozing elegance Papaver paeoniflorum 'Lilac Pompom' is a beautiful addition to the garden border, with lush frilled, fluffy large mauve coloured flowers.

This poppy is super easy to grow and is a showstopper when it is in full flower. This pretty poppy will certainly add some structural elegance to your garden and is sure to attract may wow's!

Peony poppies send up thick flower stems that can get up to 1.5 metres in height and can produce up to ten stunning flowers per plant. When the flowers do burst,  from their casings, these flowers will take your breath away. As if this weren't enough to tempt any gardener, once the petals drop, one is left with a spectacular, instantly recognisable poppy seedpod.

The plants grow quickly filling out with their broad light green lettuce-like leaves. . This is an annual variety that will readily self-seed and will make an excellent addition to your garden for years to come.

Plants appreciate a well-drained, fertile soil in full sun, they can also be grown in pots. Be sure to give your plants plenty of water which will help to increase both the number of flowers and their individual size. Enrich the soil with sheep manure, compost or bone meal ahead of planting, or use any organic fertiliser rich in nitrogen. Although these poppies are hungry feeders, their display will be more than worth the effort
