perfect for pollinators

This fabulous shrub from the Rosacae family is prized for its multi-season interest and if you love to do floristry work then this is one you wont want to be without in your cutting garden - it looks fabulous used in floral arrangements as well as wreathes. As you would expect being from the Rosacae family if does have thorns but its beauty more than makes up for them! Pyracantha is an evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub with attractive shiny green leaves that is super hardy to anything weather wise you want to throw at it.

In spring and into summer it is covered with white flowers which are then followed by masses of brilliant shiny  red berries held in dense clusters into autumn and winter.  Easy care this plant also makes a stunning hedger or thick screen and is also an excellent candidate for espaliering against a wall or fence. Quick growing. The flowers are also loved by the bees. Avoid planting this in very hot sites.  If you remove any extra vegetative growth after it has flowered you will get a better view of the berries

Trim extra vegetative growth off after flowering leaving berries to show. Avoid planting in very hot dry sites.
