This perennial has the most striking coloured broad palm-shaped leaves that are often a bronzey colour when young and as they mature they darken to green. Rogersia also produces very pretty sprays of pinky coloured flowers in late summer. This plant loves moisture so is a perfect choice for a wet boggy area or it can be used as a marginal pond plant it also looks great planted alongside ferns.
To make sure you get the best-coloured leaves, make sure that you plant rogersia in a sheltered but sunny spot in moist soil to grow it to best effect. These plants will only spread slowly but you can lift them after a few years to ensure that they continue to flower strongly as flowers will diminish if they get too congested.
