Salvia argentea
Salvia argentea, also known as silver sage is a clump forming bienniel or short lived perennial and always gets lots of comments due to its silver downy rosette of broad leaved crinkled foliage which adds a striking visual point in the garden.
This little Salvia is easily grown in average, well-drained soils in full sun and will tolerate drought conditions once established, avoid wet soils in winter. This sage is a biennial or short-lived perennial which produces its wrinkled, silver-grey rosettes of foliage the first year with flowering stems of hooded white flowers towering above foliage in the second year. Plants that flower and set seed to complete their biennial course and disappear from the garden to reappear via the self sown seed. If small side shoots appear off the main plant, they can be removed with roots to give you additional plants.
