A very pretty choice for the garden for a burst of colour in late spring and into early summer. This variety has large, creamy-lemon double bowl-shaped flowers on strong upright stems and a nice compact habit. Sometimes called Buttercups, these grow well in a sunny or partly-shaded border, also at the edge of a moist woodland or we have ours by the pond where they work well. They dislike dry soils and hot summers but love boggy poorly drained soil. Flowers will last a few days when cut, so a great choice for the vase or floral work.
Trollius New Moon looks fantastic en masse. Cut black after flowering and apply a balanced liquid fertiliser to encourage further flowers. Plants can be easily divided in autumn or alternatively early spring. We love these little plants as the rabbits don't like to eat them!
