Scabiosa atropurpurea | Fata Morgana
This beautiful Scabiosa has beautiful apricot/buff coloured flowers that have become all the rage and it adds a lovely vintage look to floral work or for your own pleasure in a vase. The stems of this stunning flower are long making for wonderful cut flowers with the added bonus of a long vase life around 7-10 days. For longest vase life flowers should be harvested when they are still in the bud stage or just partially open.
Plants grow tall and we always stake them. Loved by bees and butterflies.
Being a cut and come again annual, be sure to keep cutting the flowers and you will be rewarded with lots of wonderful cut flowers.
Height 75cm to 1m x 75cm Wide
Annual | Will self sow but may not come true - interestingly, we do find it more a short lived perennial in that ours we find we can cut back at the end of the flowering season and they do come again so perhaps in a cooler climate than what we have you may find it is indeed an annual.
