The flowers are composed of tiny star shaped white flowers and the these pretty flowers sit atop striking strong red stems. As flowers fade they are replaced with equally beautiful seed heads that further extend the garden interest. The leaves of this plant are lacy and intricately divided and a lovely emerald green, this plant is fast becoming a favourite here at Puriri Lane.
Looks lovely planted with Knautia macedonica as the cherry red of the flowers picks up on the red of the stems of this plant.
Flowering over a long period Milk Parsley as it is also known flowers from mid summer and into autumn. Easy to grow, this stately plants requires very little care and is a favourite of garden designers for bring an elegance into the garden either as a single specimen or woven through amongst other plants in both cottage, wildflower style gardens as well as general garden borders. A beautiful plant to add strength, structure as well as a delicate airy feel to the garden. Great also as a cut flower.
A reliable and long lived garden plant and recipient of the prestigious Award Of Garden Merit from the Royal Horticultural Society. Performs to its best in full sun or part shade in a moist but well drained position - we mulch ours which certainly helps throughout our dry summers.
